Here are some guidelines to help you fix any badges that continue to have issues: 1) Use the following HTML when giving badges names and descriptions: <br> <a> tags with href="" attribute for links. A target="_new" attribute will be added to each such link automatically (you should not add it yourself). This will make any navigation using this link open a new window/tab. <img> tags with src="", width="" and height="" attributes for displaying images. <center>, <b>, <i>, <em>, <strong> and <br> tags for formatting, but no attributes. 2) URLs of images and A links cannot contain the characters '?', '%', '<', '>', ''', ':' or '"'. If you need these characters, we recommend you find another web host. We expect this to be the common cause of the remaining issues and apologize in advance for the inconvenience to those affected. 3) Any HTML formatting you put in the name (title) of the badge will be removed for the mouse-over "tool tip" for badges on the avatar card.

To avoid bad linking of your badge coding, be sure to follow this small guide:
-if you want to add a link to your catalog page, use a link like this:
http://www.imvu.com/catalog/index.php/manufacturers_id/YOUR_DEV_ID_HERE
-if you want to add a link to your homepage, use a link like this:
http://avatars.imvu.com/YOUR_AVINAME_HERE
-in any other case you can't get the ? character away from the url, use TINYURL.

Hi all! gaf210 here. As you see the site has been SERIOUSLY revamped with a great design by Marilena. Along with the changes you are now seeing, there has been several new enhancements to the directory functionallity. Some of this enhancements include: better interface, faster queries to the database, a new search engine so now you can easily find new blings, etc etc. So i invite you all to view and add all the badges you want!!

Sorry I haven't said anything in a while lately, lol..my own stupid mistake. Anyway, wanted to let you guys know that the Badger now tells people who sent their badges. Is this the end of mystery badges?? Maybe. I just wanted to announce this for the badge owners. I encourage bling seekers to NOT spoil mysteries, you're ruining the fun.

And we also have a new type of way to request blings in the directory - tradable. You can set your badge as tradable :)

If you didn't notice, there were a few "outings" on the bling directory today. It wasn't available for a little bit due to some...changes we've made.

So what are these changes? Well first let me give you a back story of WHY these changes were made.

-People posting blings that were not theirs in the directory. (The only account that is meant to do that is the randombling account. That is a place for mystery badges).

-People removing and then adding the same bling they just removed again. Why would they do this? To bump up their place in the Mini-Directory, but it's not okay.

These were huge problems and after loads of complaints, changes were put to motion...these changes are as following:

-You will NOT be able to post a bling that doesn't belong to you. We now have security measures to make sure that you don't. The ONLY one that can is randombling, and that is on purpose.

-When you click "remove" to remove your bling, it will not remove it fully. It just hides it from the directory. So let's say you accidently remove it or whatever, and you want to add it again - just click on "recover" and it will be visible again - BUT it will not show up in the mini directory.

If you received a message from me, I apologize in advance. I went around to everyone's homepage who listed their blings as "homepage messages" and alerted them. A LOT of you guys had forgotten your bling was even on here, which is fine. And some didn't understand how to change the settings, and that's fine too. That's why I went around in the first place to let you guys know.
And again, I apologize for those pesky copy & paste messages. It is very inpolite and such but it seemed like the only sane way to complete a crazy task. It took me way more than 3 hours to get this thing done lol. So I hope you understand.

Anyway, if you need any help - I'll be more than happy to assist you.

AND a reminder: If you would like a mystery badge listed on the directory but do not want anyone to know it's you, just let me know. Marnidawg would normally do it but since she is away for a while, she's left me in charge. Your secret will be safe with me, so relax. Just PM me or something and we'll work it out there.

Due to some problems in the mini directory - it has been updated with a slight tweak. You do not have to change the coding if it's on your homepage, relax. I just wanted you guys to know the recent changes on the Mini Directory.

'So what are they?' you ask. Well, the NON Requestable badges will NOT be clickable on the Mini Directory. I hope that helps people!

Also, if you want to change your account on here - let's say you wanted to change how they are able to request your badges, just log in like normal and click "edit account settings" - there is the place where you can change how to request your badges. Like say for instance, you wanted to change your option from Homepage Messages to them actually going to your Homepage, just uncheck "Homepage Message" and check the "Link" option, and insert your homepage url. *wink*

Long list of updates, well kinda...*takes a deep breath*

For a month, I'll be posting updates on this site - Marni is away. Therefor, if there is anything regarding this directory site, let me know. There are a few ways to contact me, my site lists the best way - Click Here to contact me.

If you want to add a mystery badge to the directory, under the randombling account - you contact me (aka jspunkette)

Also, before I forget - if you email me, PLEASE put something noticable in the subject. I get a LOT of spam, and I delete it. So I may accidentally delete your email if you email me that way.

We added a "forgot password" feature a few weeks back, I couldn't update the site to let you guys know until today! (Don't ask)

And I think that's about it, I posted some news in the BAA Group but the news is only about the group, so I won't bore you here with it.

Sorry for the lack of updates. There has been updates, small ones - but they weren't recorded. (Like the bling maker has more things in it and such)

Anyway, huge HUGE news - IMVU now has an auto bling feature for anyone who wants to use it. You will find it in your "Manage Badges" settings under the account stuff.

There are lots of blings now in the directory, I encourage ANYONE who has a bling and is listed in here - to change your settings to "www/group" instead of "homepage messages" - if you have an auto blinger or anything like that on your page.

Added a new menu item called Mini Directory, it basically has the code for putting a small version of the directory on your homepage (like Marni has put below)

3:45pm EST- Badges working again!

3:15pm EST- Badges seem to be unavailable for a while. Please think about holding off on requests until it starts working again, so badge owners aren't flooded with requests they can't grant for now.

Most bugs are now worked out! And if you have a non-requestable badge you can now add it as such.

I also created a "RandomBling" account for those of you who wish to show off your bling, but not be listed by name. It's also fun for people who want others to figure out who sent the bling to them! If you want to add a bling under this account just PM me and I will send you the login info.

You can now add your OWN bling to the directory! Simply register and add any and all bling you have and chose the meathod you would like to be contacted! Special thanks to Gaf for writing this script for us!
